Who needs to save a penny & pirate the Humble Indie Bundle???
Mark and I talked about the Humble Indie Bundle in our latest podcast and Mark had posted about his recent download of the bundle.
Hard to believe that 25% of the downloads from the site are actually pirated, because people don't want to pay the 1 cent to obtain the key code, but instead are posting it on sites such as forums, 4chan, etc
The question asked on the Wolfire blog is "why would you pirate a pay-what-you-want bundle?" As the stats show, the biggest contributors were Linux users, but perhaps those without credit card access felt the need to do so.
However this was just a short note to ponder why people have to potentially ruin a good thing. The devs at Wolfire at this point are going to focus on making cool games, having great customer service and hope for the best.
It seems from the comments though, that the credit card payment method is not ideal, especially for those under 18, and the other payment options such as Paypal are not easily accessed in other countries. Not sure what the answer for that is though.
